Here's to Comebacks

You know that feeling that you get when someone tells you that you're not good enough. Or that you can't do something? I felt that way last year when an asshole totally underestimated me. Fine, I agree that I did give him a reason to say so, but let me tell you, that no one gets to tell me what I can or cannot do and no one gets judge me especially when they don't know me. And I think that particular thing is true for all of us. We shouldn't let others dictate our boundaries.

I so often hear people around me feeling like shit because somebody told them that they weren't pretty enough, or smart enough or, I don't know, talented enough and no one deserves to feel that way because truly, if you really want to and if you try hard enough, you can do anything.

So when a person underestimates you, there are only two things that you can do. One, you can ignore them because their opinion really doesn't matter or two, you can totally kick their ass and prove them wrong. Many of you would chose the first option because it just seems more sane and logical but I chose the second one.It may have been reckless but I worked my ass off and proved everybody, including that asshole, who didn't believe in me, wrong and I'm proud of myself for that.

So I guess at one point or another people do underestimate us. But trust me, none of us deserve it. As long as you want something, you can get it if you work hard enough. And you'll find a million jerks who'll tell you that you can't but you should not let that discourage you from achieving what you might. So here's to comebacks.
