Get Over Yourself!

Thats exactly what I'd like to say to 80% of the people in the world. Oh wait....I think I am getting ahead of myself right now. So I guess I should begin by explaining, who these 80% of people are. I conveniently put them under the category of "victims". See these people manage to make small little problems in their life look
like human engulfing hurricanes by simply cribbing about how messed up their lives are 24X7. I think its really stupid how they totally ignore bigger stuff that happens in lives of other people.

So I have this friend who practically talks about committing suicide all the time because her fucking boyfriend broke up with her. The craziest part about this is that the whole time they dated, she always said that she wasn't serious about him. And theres a guy in my class who throws a fit publicly when hes forced to sit a few seats away from his crush (one period long separation is a life threatening disaster huh?). If I start to list all the examples, I might end up writing a 7000 pages long thesis so I'll stop here. My point is that come on...there are worse things that happen to people. I mean I know a seven years old kid who cant get up from a wheelchair or do anything other than what a six months old baby is capable of doing, due to underdeveloped brain and then there is another kid who suffers from terminal brain cancer and spends a good amount of each month on a ventilator. Hows that for a tragedy.

Well I have a theory. I think people crib about small problems and tragedies in their lives in order to justify their bad decisions. People blame their drug habits on the fact that their spouse cheated on them or blame their divorcing parents for their fucked up grades. I mean its a good way to tell yourself that its not all your fault but turns out, it is. You need to stop screwing things over and blaming it on tragedies when there are far worse things happening to people everyday. So my message to these 80% people is that sitting and cribbing about small little problems wouldn't make them go away. Look at all the people who go through tougher stuff and still mange to smile. Start respecting the good things in your life and consider yourself lucky. And please GET OVER YOURSELF. You're not the only one with tragedies.
